Launch Day of the Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-114)

JAXA would like to advise that the National Aeronautics and Space administration (NASA) has announced that the Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-114) would be launched at 3:51 p.m. on July 13 (Eastern Daylight Time, EDT) or at 4:51 a.m. on July 14 Japan Standard Time (JST) from the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida, U.S.A.

The mission this time includes the demonstration of inspection and repair technologies, provision of spare parts, food, and clothes, replacement of the control moment gyro, and installing the External Stowage Platform.
