Astronaut Furukawa Starts ISS Expedition Mission

Astronaut Satoshi Furukawa, who arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) on the Soyuz spacecraft (27S/TMA-02M), began his long-term stay as a crewmember for the 28th and 29th expedition crews as the hatch to the ISS and the 27S opened. He will stay there for about five and half months until he returns home by the Soyuz (27S/TMA-02M) sometime in November this year.

Soyuz/ISS docking date and time:

At 06:18 a.m. on June 10, 2011 (Japan Standard Time)
At 01:18 a.m. on June 10, 2011 (Moscow Standard Time)


Hatch open between the Soyuz and the ISS:

At 09:34 a.m. on June 10, 2011 (Japan Standard Time)
At 04:34 a.m. on June 10, 2011 (Moscow Standard Time)
