Launch Schedule of the Space Shuttle Discovery with Astronaut Noguchi Onboard [STS-114 / International Space Station Assembly Resumption Mission (LF-1)]

July 16, 2005 (JST)

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)

At around 5:45 p.m. on July 15 (Eastern Daylight Time, EDT), or 6:45 a.m. July 16 (Japan Standard Time, JST), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the launch date of the Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-114 / International Space Station Assembly Resumption Mission, LF-1) had not been decided because NASA needed more time to investigate the cause of an anomaly found in the liquid fuel tank sensor system during countdown operations.
Discovery can be launched four days after the cause is determined and countermeasures are completed.

NASA said that it would hold a press conference regarding progress with the investigation no earlier than July 18 (EDT, or July 19, JST).
