Launch Postponement of the IBUKI (GOSAT)
aboard H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 15

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency would like to announce that we have decided to postpone the launch of the Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite "IBUKI" (GOSAT) aboard the H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 15 (H-IIA F15) as bad weather is forecast around the time of the L-1 day operations.*1
The launch was originally scheduled for January 21, 2009 (Japan Standard Time, JST).
The new launch date will be January 22, 2009, or later. We will carefully monitor the weather conditions to determine the date.
*1 L-1 operations are the final launch preparation works starting one day prior to the launch day.
