Implementation of First Stage Captive Firing Test as Part of Standard Type H-II A Launch Vehicle Ground Test Vehicle/Ground System Test (GTV-1)

The National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) is currently implementing
H-II A Launch Vehicle Ground Test /Ground System Test (GTV-1) at the Tanegashima Space Center.
The aim of these is to confirm interfaces between the standard-type H-II A Launch Vehicle and Ground System for establishing launch readiness. As part of these system tests, First Stage Captive Firing Test will be conducted as follows:

1. Test Site: H-II Launch Complex, Osaki Range, Tanegashima Space Center, NASDA
2. Date and Time of Test: Ignition scheduled for 16:00 on Jun. 20 (Tuesday), 2000
3. Purpose of Test: To simulate countdown, and to confirm the overall functions and performance of the first stage captive firing system
