The National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) has confirmed that the Data Relay Test Satellite (DRTS), "Kodama", has been placed into the second transfer orbit, due to the results of the first apogee engine firing.

The orbital parameters calculation results are as follows:
  Resultant Parameters Planned Parameters
Height of Apogee: 36,032 km (36,032 km)
Height of Perigee: 7,397 km (7,791 km)
Orbital Inclination: 12.0 degrees (11.6 degrees)
Period: 13 hours 1 minute (13 hours 9 minutes)

Currently Kodama is working normally.

From now on, the second apogee engine firing will be conducted for 1 hour, starting at about 11:22 (JST) on September 12, 2002 and Kodama will be placed into the third transfer obit.
