Nickname
The nickname for the lunar explorer SELENE, which was solicited from the general public, has been selected as the "KAGUYA."
Mission Mark
The mission logo of SELENE (KAGUYA) shows a symbolic drawing of the Earth (right) and the Moon, which is our exploration object (left,) with a figurative “S” in-between as an “S” for SELENE and SELENE’s mission profile from the Earth to the Moon. It was designed by a student of School of Art and Design, University of Tsukuba.
