NASA’s Artemis I, carrying the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) CubeSats OMOTENASHI and EQUULEUS, was launched from the NASA Kennedy Space Center (Florida, USA) on November 16, 2022 at 1:47 (EST) (November 16, 2022 at 15:47 JST).
EQUULEUS separated on November 16 (JST) and was confirmed to be operating normally at 22:50 (JST) on the same day.
OMOTENASHI also separated on November 16 (JST), but currently the CubeSat has not completed sun acquisition and communication is not stable. We are therefore continuing operations to stabilize attitude, secure power and establish communication.
We will keep you updated on the status.
