RApid Innovative payload demonstration SatellitE-2(RAISE-2)Ends Its Operation

 The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) hereby announces that JAXA sent a set of commands to shut down the operation of the RApid Innovative payload demonstration SatellitE-2 (RAISE-2) at 9:41 a.m. on April 7, 2023(JST; the same applies hereinafter).

 RAISE-2 was launched from the Uchinoura Space Center by the fifth Epsilon Launch Vehicle (Epsilon-5) at 9:55 a.m. on November 9, 2021, for the on-orbit demonstration experiments of six components and parts mounted on the satellite as part of "Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration-2"*.

 RAISE-2 is a satellite designed for orbital demonstration of the components and parts selected for "Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration-2".

 Through the operation of RAISE-2 for about a year, RAISE-2 has completed its mission of implementing six demonstration themes, as reported by each of the proposing organizations in the attachment.

 We would like to express our deep gratitude to all the related organizations and individuals for their cooperation and support to the development and operation of RAISE-2.

* Second on-orbit demonstration opportunity offered by JAXA for equipment, parts, microsatellites and CubeSats developed by companies, universities, and others under the Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration Program.
